Tips on Selling Your Home in a Buyer’s Market

Selling your house in this market can actually be a rewarding experience, not only in the process but in your pocket as well.  Make your home stand out and be noticed by any discriminating buyer by following some simple tips.

Eliminate major problems now!

Though there are a lot of investors out there that don’t mind fixing up houses, a house will sell much easier and faster if there aren’t any major concerns. Having a leaky roof or a mold outbreak, isn’t something a new buyer will want to deal with from the start. Deal with these major problems right away. Although these repairs may be costly now, in the long run you will make out better; the house will be sold faster and for a higher price, than if it’s in need of repairs.

Add finishing touches

When people are looking to buy a new house, certain finishing touches can really get a buyer interested. It may be beneficial to paint the house in neutral colors so that the paint color of the room appeals to more people.  Your potential buyer may have a son, who doesn’t like the hot pink room that your daughter absolutely loves!

Get rid of clutter

When a buyer is looking at a house, they may reject the house or not be interested because of things such as clutter. Although the clutter is something that won’t be in their house when they buy it, buyer’s aren’t able to picture a house without anything in it.  They want to see how their new home will look with their items in it, so give them that opportunity. Clutter also makes rooms appear much smaller than they are.
By storing some of your personal items,  you help the buyer imagine themselves in the home and you make the most out of all the space.

Tidy up the yard

One of the best tips a seller can consider is fixing up their yard. In order for a house to appeal to others, it has to have a great curb appeal. Since curb appeal is the first impression, it has to make a good impression on all the potential buyers coming to look at the house. If you need to weed the flowerbeds, trim the bushes or mow the lawn, now is the best time to do it! Your potential buyer will love that the house is move in ready. They will have enough work on the yard once they buy it, don’t have them working before, they may move on to the next house.

Price reasonably from the beginning

Though the real estate market is up and down, it’s important for a seller to price their home right. A lot of people tend to think their home is worth more than others that are comparable in the area. Your realtor can provide valuable information about how your home can be in the right price range. They will compare other homes and let you know where you price should lie.

Following these helpful tips, you are headed in the right direction to sell your house for a fair amount and in the shortest time possible. Let’s get your home sold! Contact Albert Clark, he will be able to guide you through the process to make it fast, easy and hassle free.
